Rio Hudson has attracted growing attention as the granddaughter of Hollywood icons Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell and the daughter of actor Oliver Hudson and actress Erinn Bartlett. Born into one of the entertainment industry’s best-known families, Rio has occasionally appeared alongside her relatives at public events and has recently drawn attention for her interest in performing.
Interest in Rio Hudson increased significantly in 2025 and 2026 after she began making more public appearances and her famous grandparents spoke about her personality and artistic interests. Kurt Russell, in particular, has said that Rio has a natural spark and noted her ability as a dancer.
At the same time, Rio is still young, and much of her life remains private. Her public profile is largely connected to her family and occasional appearances rather than an established professional entertainment career.
Who Is Rio Hudson?
Rio Hudson is the daughter of actor Oliver Hudson and actress Erinn Bartlett. She is also the granddaughter of Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and actor Kurt Russell, who have been longtime partners.
Her family connection places her within one of Hollywood’s most recognizable entertainment dynasties. Her uncle is actor Wyatt Russell, while her aunt is actress Kate Hudson. Rio also has two older brothers, Wilder and Bodhi Hudson.
Unlike some young celebrity children who immediately pursue professional acting, Rio’s public presence has developed gradually. She has appeared at family events, including entertainment premieres and charity gatherings, while her parents have largely allowed her to grow up outside the constant pressure of Hollywood.
That balance has become especially interesting as Rio herself has shown an interest in the performing arts.
Early Life and Family Background
Rio Laura Hudson was born on July 18, 2013. Her birth was announced publicly by her grandmother Goldie Hawn, who celebrated the arrival of her first granddaughter. Contemporary reporting identified Rio as Oliver Hudson and Erinn Bartlett’s third child and their first daughter.
Her father, Oliver Hudson, is an actor and producer known for television and film work including Rules of Engagement, Nashville, Scream Queens and The Cleaning Lady. He is the son of Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson, although Kurt Russell has played a major parental role in the family.
Rio’s mother, Erinn Bartlett, also has experience in entertainment. Bartlett appeared in films including Shallow Hal, Raising Helen and The Benchwarmers. She married Oliver Hudson in 2006, and the couple have three children.
Growing up, therefore, Rio was surrounded by relatives who had already built careers in acting and entertainment. Her extended family includes several recognizable performers, giving her an unusual connection to Hollywood from an early age.
Rio Hudson’s Famous Family
The Hudson-Hawn-Russell family is one of the more prominent multigenerational families in American entertainment.
Goldie Hawn became a major star after her breakthrough on television’s Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. She later built a successful film career and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Cactus Flower.
Her children Kate and Oliver Hudson both entered the entertainment industry. Kate became an acclaimed actress known for films such as Almost Famous, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Oliver established his own career as an actor and producer.
Kurt Russell, meanwhile, has enjoyed a long career in film and television, with credits including Escape from New York, The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China, Backdraft and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
Rio is part of the next generation of that family. Her relationship with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell has become one of the main reasons entertainment audiences have become curious about her.
Rio Hudson and Goldie Hawn
The relationship between Rio Hudson and Goldie Hawn has received considerable public attention because of their strong family resemblance and Rio’s apparent interest in performing.
Fans have repeatedly commented on similarities between Rio and her grandmother. In 2024, photos of Rio with her father circulated widely, with entertainment coverage noting her resemblance to Hawn.
The comparison became even more prominent in 2026 when Kurt Russell discussed Rio’s personality and talents in an interview with E! News.
Russell described Rio as having something special and emphasized that whatever qualities people see in her are also distinctly her own. He also discussed her dancing ability, helping fuel the affectionate “Mini Goldie” comparison that had already developed around her.
The comments were notable because they came from someone who has known Rio since birth and has watched her grow up within the family.
Rio Hudson’s Interest in Entertainment
Although Rio does not yet have an extensive professional acting résumé, her interest in the entertainment world has become increasingly visible.
In 2025, Rio appeared with her father and grandmother in an Access Hollywood interview connected to the release of Freakier Friday. IMDb also lists Rio as appearing as herself in the 2025 Access Hollywood episode associated with the film’s promotion.
During that period, Goldie Hawn spoke openly about the possibility of Rio eventually entering show business. Hawn compared the situation with her daughter Kate Hudson and joked that the family might not have much choice if Rio follows her interests toward entertainment.
However, that does not mean Rio has formally launched an acting career. Public comments from her family indicate that she is still exploring her interests and developing her abilities.
Dancing and Performing
Dancing appears to be one of the areas where Rio has shown particular enthusiasm.
In February 2026, Kurt Russell told E! News that Rio was demonstrating strong dancing ability. He also suggested that her potential was noticeable to people around her.
That interest matters because performance does not necessarily have to begin with acting. Dance, theater and other performing arts can provide young people with opportunities to develop confidence, stage presence and creative skills before deciding whether professional entertainment is the right path.
For Rio, the public comments from her family suggest that she is being encouraged to explore those interests rather than being pushed immediately into a Hollywood career.
Public Appearances
Rio has made a number of appearances with her family over the years.
Getty Images records her attending public events with her parents and siblings, including the Goldie Hawn Foundation’s 20th anniversary celebration in Beverly Hills in September 2024.
She also appeared publicly with her family around the promotion of Happy Gilmore 2 in 2025. Getty Images documented Rio with Oliver Hudson, Erinn Bartlett, her brothers and Goldie Hawn at the film’s New York premiere.
Another notable appearance came in March 2025, when Rio attended a Los Angeles Lakers game with her aunt Kate Hudson. Entertainment coverage highlighted the resemblance between Rio, Kate and Goldie.
These appearances have helped introduce Rio to the public without establishing her as a full-time celebrity.
Education and Childhood
Specific information about Rio Hudson’s schooling and day-to-day childhood has not been broadly documented by reliable entertainment sources.
That is unsurprising given her age and her family’s apparent effort to maintain boundaries around her private life. There is no need to speculate about her education, school, grades or personal routines when those details have not been reliably reported.
What is publicly established is that Rio has grown up in a family with extensive experience in entertainment and has shown an interest in dance and performance.
Rio Hudson’s Relationship With Her Parents
Rio’s parents, Oliver Hudson and Erinn Bartlett, have generally kept their children’s lives relatively private while occasionally sharing family moments publicly.
Oliver has posted photographs involving Rio over the years, including a 2024 image that attracted attention because of her resemblance to Goldie Hawn.
The family’s public appearances also show Rio spending time with her parents and siblings at major events.
Her parents’ careers may give Rio an unusual understanding of the entertainment business, but there is no indication that she is being treated as a guaranteed future Hollywood star. Her current public profile remains centered on family appearances and developing interests.
Does Rio Hudson Have a Career?
As of 2026, Rio Hudson should not be described as an established professional actress or entertainer.
She has appeared on television as herself and has attended entertainment events, but those appearances are different from having a sustained acting career. IMDb currently lists her Access Hollywood appearance, rather than a substantial filmography.
Her family has spoken positively about her potential, particularly her dancing and performance interests. Still, whether she eventually becomes an actor, dancer, performer or chooses an entirely different career remains her decision.
That distinction is important when discussing a young person who has grown up around famous relatives.
Physical Appearance
Public photographs have led entertainment publications and fans to comment on Rio’s resemblance to Goldie Hawn and other members of the Hudson family.
She has often been photographed with blonde hair, and media coverage has particularly focused on the similarities between her appearance and that of her grandmother and aunt Kate Hudson.
Specific details such as height or other changing physical measurements are not necessary to understand her public profile and should not be treated as established facts without reliable reporting.
Rio Hudson’s Net Worth
There is no reliable public figure for Rio Hudson’s net worth.
Because Rio is still a child and has not established an independent professional career, online estimates claiming a specific personal fortune should be treated with caution.
Her family’s substantial entertainment success is well documented, but the wealth of her parents, grandparents or other relatives should not be presented as Rio’s personal net worth.
For that reason, no specific dollar figure can responsibly be given.
Why Is Rio Hudson Trending?
Interest in Rio Hudson has grown for several connected reasons.
First, she belongs to a famous Hollywood family that includes Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson. Second, her appearances at public events have given audiences a chance to see her as she grows up.
Most recently, attention increased after Kurt Russell discussed her talent and personality in 2026. His comments about her dancing ability and resemblance to Goldie Hawn helped renew interest in the youngest generation of the Hudson-Hawn-Russell family.
Her 2025 appearance connected to Freakier Friday also showed that she is becoming more comfortable around entertainment-industry events.
